Starting an Online Business: 2 Key Decisions to Make First

In this article I am going to discuss the 2 key decisions you need to make if you are considering starting your own business online. It is easier and cheaper to start a business online than to create a more traditional business and you can also reach a wider audience, worldwide if you want. In particular an information and coaching based business that you market and deliver via the internet is a particularly successful model. Whatever type of online business you are thinking about (or maybe you don't know what you want to do as yet) there are two key decisions to take first of all.
To start an online business or not?
The first decision involves making sure that starting up a business online really is the right thing for you to do at this time in your life. Please don't be fooled by the many adverts telling you that setting up a business online is quick and easy. It's just like the many diets that keep popping up that promise great weight loss results in next to no time. Deep down you know they are too good to be true. It is true that you don't need to have a lot of money to invest in order to start up a business but to compensate you will need to invest more of your time. You will need to be prepared to learn new skills and work consistently before you will see results. So make sure you consider your situation carefully and decide whether or not this really is the right time to start your own business online. I'm really not trying to put you off and I do believe that almost anyone can successfully build an online business if they find the right help and support, just be prepared to work and stick at it.
What niche do I choose for my business?
The second decision, assuming you decide to go ahead, is about selecting the particular niche for your business, in other words what service are you going to provide and who are you going to help with your products and programmes. If this is your first time then I would strongly recommend that you pick something that fits in one of the big top 3 niches: health, making money and relationships. Think about your interests and strengths. Think about people you have enjoyed helping to overcome some challenge in the past. Think about what challenges you have overcome personally and could now help others to do so.
By the way do you want more help and information with these two key decisions about starting a business online?
